I almost died a few weeks ago
(True story)
A few weeks ago I was crossing the street in Okinawa, when a car almost hit me.
It was going 50mph.
But I didn’t see it.
I’m about to step off the curb.
I look to my left for oncoming traffic.
Nothing.
My foot catches on the ground and stops me in my tracks.
I get annoyed for a sec.
“Why tf did my foot just catch on the ground?”
The car zooms by just a few inches from my face.
I almost got h
First off.
Thank God my foot got caught on the ground (big size shoe problems lol).
Second, I forgot that in Japan they drive on the left-hand side of the road, not the right-hand side.
So I didn’t yet train my brain to look over my right shoulder first instead of my left when crossing the road.
And it almost cost me my life.
Best case scenario tons of broken bones.
Worst case scenario.
Death.
Legit.
I just looked it up, and when you get hit by a car going 50mph, survival rate drops to 31%.
Basically a 2 in 3 chance of death.
Wild, huh?
So what’s the lesson here?
Aside looking both ways before I cross the street…
The marketing lesson is people do what they’re trained to do.
In this case, I was trained to look left instead of right when crossing the road and it almost cost me my life.
In your case, you want to train your audience to engage with your content.
Train them to open your emails.
Train them to comment on your posts.
Train them to DM you.
It’s one of the little-known secrets nobody knows about.
Train your audience on how to engage with you in a way that turns them into clients.
Otherwise you’re bound for an accident ;)
